Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse/Trainee to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting dentists during patient treatments, ensuring a high standard of patient care, and maintaining the smooth operation of the clinic. Duties

  • Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials prior to appointments
  • Provide patients with pre- and post-treatment instructions, answering any questions they may have
  • Maintain accurate patient records using IT systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations
  • Sterilise and disinfect dental instruments and equipment in accordance with health and safety standards
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient files, and handling correspondence
  • Ensure the clinical environment remains clean, organised, and fully stocked with supplies at all times
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providing reassurance and explaining procedures clearly

Requirements

  • Proven experience in patient care within a healthcare or dental setting is preferred
  • Good command of English, both spoken and written, to communicate effectively with patients and team members
  • Knowledge of nursing principles relevant to dental care is desirable
  • Basic IT skills for managing patient records and clinic administration programmes
  • Excellent communication skills to build rapport with patients and colleagues
  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative and independence when required
  • A recognised qualification in dental nursing or relevant healthcare training is advantageous
